The MINISFORUM A1 X1 Pro is a small desktop computer that combines an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 “Strix Point” processor with up to 96GB of RAM and PCIe 4.0 storage.
First announced in January, the A1 X1 Pro is now available for pre-order with prices starting at $899 for a model with 32GB of memory and 1TB of storage. It’s expected to ship by the end of March. There’s also a cheaper model called the MINISFORUM A1 X1 that sells for $439 and up and ships in mid-April.
The non-Pro model costs less for two reasons: the starting price is for a barebones configuration without any memory, storage or operating system. And the A1 X1 has a cheaper, less powerful Ryzen 7 260 “Hawk Point” processor.
Prices for the non-Pro model start at $599 if you opt for a model with 32GB of memory, 1TB of storage, and Windows 11 software, making it just $200 cheaper than a similarly-specced A1 X1 Pro. The A1 X1 Pro is also a little larger, which allows MINISFORUM to cram a little more functionality into the Pro model.
For example it has three M.2 2280 slots for storage while the normal A1 X1 has just two. And it has two Ethernet ports instead of just one. But the biggest difference is that it has a significantly more powerful processor:
CPU architecture | Cores / Threads | Freq | Cache | Graphics | NPU | TDP | |
Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 | Zen 5 + 5c | 12 / 24 | 2 GHz / 5.1 GHz | 36MB | Radeon 890M (16 x RDNA 3.5 up to 2.9 GHz) | 50 TOPS | 15 – 54W |
Ryzen 9 260 | Zen 4 | 8 / 16 | 3.8 GHz / 5.1 GHz | 24MB | Radeon 780M (12 x RDNA 3 up to 2.7 GHz) | 16 TOPS | 35 – 54W |
Both systems have metal bodies and two SODIMM slots inside the case for DDR5-5600 memory. And unlike most mini PCs, the A1 X1 and A1 X1 Pro also have a built-in stereo speakers and dual microphones.

The A1 X1 (non-Pro) measures 128 x 126 x 52mm (5.04″ x 4.96″ x 2.05″), while the A1 X1 Pro is 195 x 195 x 47.5mm (7.68″ x 7.68″ x 1.87″). Ports include:
- 2 x 2.5 GbE LAN (1 x only on non-Pro)
- 1 x OCuLink (64 Gbps)
- 2 x USB4 (40 Gbps)
- 2 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A (10 Gbps)
- 1 x USB 2.0 Type-A (480 Mbps)
- 1 x HDMI 2.1
- 1 x DisplayPort 2.0
- 1 x 3.5mm audio
- 1 x SD card reader (Pro-only)

Both models also supports WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless
A few other feature that are exclusive to the Pro model? A dedicated Windows Copilot key and a fingerprint sensor. While the latter could come in handy for quick logins, I’m not sure if the latter is a selling point or not.
