The MINISFORUM AtomMan G7 PT is a small PC with the beating heart of a gaming laptop. Inside the small chassis is an AMD Ryzen 7 7945HX processor and AMD Radeon RX 7600 XT discrete graphics.
But since this is a desktop rather than a laptop, there’s also room for plenty of ports. The computer supports up to three displays, features a 2.5 GbE Ethernet port, and has six USB ports. First introduced earlier this year, the AtomMan G7 PT is now available for purchase for $999 and up, and MINISFORUM says it should begin shipping to customers by the end of July.
For the most part, the AtomMan G7 PT looks like an AMD-powered alternative to the Asus ROG NUC. While the Asus mini PC is available with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 graphics, MINISFORUM’s mini PC goes all-in on AMD hardware. It’s also a lot cheaper: prices for the ROG NUC are expected to start at $1629.
The $999 starting price for the MINISFORUM AtomMan G7 PT is for a barebones configuration that ships without memory, storage, or an operating system. But you can get a model with 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and Windows 11 for $1,199.
Open the case and you’ll find two SODIMM slots with support for up to 96GB of total DDR5-5200 memory, and two M.2 2280 slots for storage: one supports PCIe 5.0 while the other tops out at PCIe 4.0. There’s also an M.2 2230 slot for a wireless card.
MINISFORUM says its “patented Cold Wave Ultra” cooling system features four double-sided fans, 8 heat pipes and liquid metal to provide up to 205 watts of cooling capacity while keeping noise levels “as low as” 45 dB.
Ports include:
- 1 x DisplayPort 2.0
- 1 x HDMI 2.1
- 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (with DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery)
- 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C (data only)
- 4 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
- 1 x 2.5 GbE Ethernet
- 1 x 3.5mm audio combo jack
- 1 x 3.5mm mic input
- 1 x 3.5mm line out
There are also dual digital microphones built in.
MINISFORUM says the AtomMan G7 Pt is the first mini PC to be certified as an AMD Advantage gaming system. And this wouldn’t be a gaming system if there wasn’t support for RGB lighting effects: MINISFORUM includes two RGB backlit panels that allow the side of graphics on the side of the case to be illuminated. Or you can disable the lights if you’d prefer a more subdued look.
