The MINISFORUM AtomMan X7 Pt is a compact desktop computer with an AMD Ryzen 9 8945HS processor, support for up to 64GB of dual-channel DDR5-5600 memory, two M.2 2280 slots for PCIe 4.0 SSDs and I/O features that include dual 2.5 GbE LaN ports, an OCuLink port, and two USB4 ports.
It’s also a water-cooled computer, which is rather unusual to find in a system that measures 175 x 132 x 155mm (6.9″ x 5.2″ x 6.1″). MINISFORUM showed off the computer at Computex this week. But if it looks a little familiar, there’s a good reason for that.
The Chinese PC maker first introduced this computer under a different name in April, when it was known as the AtomMan UM890 WE.
Why the name change? Most likely to better match the model numbers for the company’s other computers in the AtomMan lineup, which MINISFORUM recently introduced for high-performance mini PCs that could be used for gaming or workstation tasks.
For example the MINISFORUM AtomMan X7 Ti is a smaller model with an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H processor, an OCuLink connector and 5 Gbit Ethernet, while the AtomMan G7 Pt is a slightly larger system with an AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX processor and Radeon RX 7600M XT graphics baked in.
The upcoming AtomMan X7 Pt doesn’t have a discrete GPU inside the case, but it should be easy to connect an external graphics dock thanks to the OCuLink port with support for data transfer speeds up to 63 Gbps or the dual USB4 ports, each of which supports 40 Gbps speeds.
But the main thing that sets this computer apart from other mini PCs is the cooling system, which includes a heat sink, a 120mm fan, and a liquid cooling system that helps keep the internal temperature at 75 degrees Celsius or lower while keeping noise levels below 40 dB, which is presumably quieter than the computer would be if it was just using a heat sink and fan.
Other features include an M.2 2230 wireless card with support for WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3, a built-in digital microphone, and RGB lights that can illuminate a face plate on the front of the system.
The full set of ports includes:
- 1 x HDMI 2.1
- 1 x DisplayPort 1.4
- 1 x OCuLink (63 Gbps)
- 2 x USB4 (40 Gbps w/DisplayPort Alt Mode and USB Power Delivery)
- 4 x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A (10 Gbps)
- 2 x 2.5 GbE Ethernet
- 1 x 3.5mm audio
- 1 x 19V DC power input
MINISFORUM hasn’t announced how much the computer will cost yet.
